Tokyo Express Restaurant: Authentic Japanese Cuisine in Modesto

Amazing customer service!! They are very sweet and checked up on us, I got chicken udon and the noodles were very soft and the soup was flavorful. Definitely coming here again

First time ever coming here. If there was six star rating this is the place. I cannot emphasize the excellent service at Tokyo Express. Very attentive and friendly. My wife and I felt very welcomed as if invited into a home. I don't remember ever feeling this way at any restaurant in a long time. The food was really delicious packed with flavor. There no restaurant that expresses their gratitude and provides excellent service like what I experienced at Tokyo Express. This restaurant really shines for that. Thank you.

Absolutely my most favorite spot in all of Modesto. Their sushis and soups are soooooo good, I highly recommend the Hot n Spicy BBQ Ramen Spicy, def the BEST and my top favorite. No other restaurants do the soups like they do. I’d be heartbroken for eternity if this restaurant shut down. absolutely 10/10 of a spot for asian food, much better if you bring your friends and family

Food was absolutely delicious so flavorful, the person at the counter that took our orders and brought them out was so nice great customer service! I would have taken a photo before I ate but it smelled so good I forgot 10/10 recommend

Been coming here for 20 plus years! The owner is such a great guy! The food is fresh and always yummy! Chinese and Japanese dishes, plus Ramen! Great Japanese beer selection too! Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful time here! The food was delicious and well priced and the man at the front counter whom I assume was the owner was extremely friendly and attentive to us. I ordered the dragon roll, Tokyo Special Roll, and chicken teriyaki bento. I've yet to try authentic Japanese food in Japan, but this is easily the best I've had out of six places in Modesto and easily rivals far more expensive food I've had in the Bay Area and Sacramento. I came here to celebrate my birthday, and I'm usually too cheap to go out to eat other than special occasions, but I'm certainly making an exception for this restaurant and coming back here to explore more of their menu. Since they're located downtown you may have a slight hassle in finding parking, and I'm sure that affording downtown rent prices is why they serve everything with disposable plates/utensils and don't invest money in "ambiance" but that's perfectly fine by me as all that really matters is the food, friendliness, and cost

Hello yall, what can I say about Tokyo Express. Let’s start with just overall an amazing experience. From the sushi to the restaurant itself it was perfect. The dining area is not that big which is what I like and the food itself was very filling and delicious. The customer service was beyond excellent. I will be coming back again and if you haven’t tried it, give it a shot!

The workers are very nice and very friendly. The food was also very good! The place is a bit small, so it wouldn’t be the best for large parties if you were to dine-in otherwise it’s the best!
